Two rivers
When you first see it and realize that this is a chocolate bar you need!
When you hold it in your hand and feel like a child on Christmas morning.
When you taste it and get transported through time and space.
When you finish the bar and feel that you need to taste this bar again.
With some bars you just know that you will enjoy it. The combination of a maker that you trust bringing out the best of the beans and an intriguing story!
What makes this bar so special is the use of two Brazilian cacao varieties. The dark side is made with cacao from the Amazon rainforest and the lighter side with cacao from the Atlantic rainforest representing two rivers, becoming one, that chocolate maker Arcelia Gallardo (Mission Chocolate) traveled on. In my story I will repost the beautiful photo showing the river: imagine one river but it’s divided in
half one side much lighter than the other.
It looks extraordinary and looking at the
bar and the photo I completely understand the name of the bar, Two rivers.
I quote Mission chocolate: “two rivers that refused to meet, side by side for miles and miles until finally… they met to form the largest and most powerful river of the world”
Besides reminding us of how incredible nature is, it shows us and allows us to taste - in one bar - the diversity of flavor in cacao. It’s been wonderful to share this bar, everyone has had a preferred side of the bar!
Have you tasted this bar?
